Happy Friday! Bet you can’t watch this and not smile…

Many of you have probably seen this if you’re on Facebook, but it’s Friday and who doesn’t like something that makes you smile?

Actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard released this crazy, adorable video!

  1. I really love that song!
  2. I don’t normally care for what “famous” people do – it’s usually dramatic or annoying
  3. Relationship goals, right here – What a fun couple they are, am I right?

Yes, it’s 5 minutes long, but seriously awesome. If you’re happy it’s Friday and you can’t wait for the weekend, give this a watch, you’ll be smiling I guarantee it (otherwise, you need to live a little and have some of your own fun this weekend!)

Alone in her crib, prayers from a 2 year old

Trending on Facebook right now is a video of a 2 year old from South Carolina, saying her prayers, by herself, in her crib. It is seriously one of the cutest things I have ever seen! Her mom and dad captured this adorableness by recording their daughter through their video monitor.

Sometimes, I have a hard time remembering to pray. It shouldn’t be difficult, it should be second nature, really. But I’d like to be open and honest about it. Days get busy – with work, kids and life, but prayer should be a part of that! How can it be so hard to take a little time to thank God for the people we have in our life, or the food on our table, or the roof over our head?

It may seem a little ridiculous, but I find this little 2 year old quite inspiring. Her parents rushed her to bedtime as to not miss an important playoff game. That little 2 year old doesn’t know any different. She doesn’t know how “important” that game was, but she did find it important to pray, and thank God for all of the wonderful people in her life (including Santa, what a kid 🙂 ) before going to bed.

What a sweet and thoughtful little girl!

Check it out 🙂

Keeper of the Starrs

2

Hi! I’m Katy. I am a wife to an amazingly adorable, honest to goodness love of my life and funny husband, mother to the cutest little 10 month old you’ve ever seen (she’s 6 months in the photo below) and child of the one true King.

Keeper of the Starrs… catchy tagline, you think? Tracy Byrd (many of you may not recognize his name – popular 90s country artist) recorded a song called Keeper of the Stars. It’s an incredibly romantic and beautiful song in every way, thanking God for the love of your life. It inspired my blog name!

“The Keeper Of The Stars”

(Written by Dickey Lee, Danny “Bear” Mayo and Karen Stale & recorded by Tracy Byrd)

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew
Now I just can’t believe you’re in my life
Heaven’s smilin’ down on me
As I look at you tonight

I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin’
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I’ve got all I’ll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

Soft moonlight on your face oh how you shine
It takes my breath away
Just to look into your eyes
I know I don’t deserve a treasure like you
There really are no words
To show my gratitude

So I tip my hat to the keeper of the stars
He sure knew what he was doin’
When he joined these two hearts
I hold everything
When I hold you in my arms
I’ve got all I’ll ever need
Thanks to the keeper of the stars

It was no accident me finding you
Someone had a hand in it
Long before we ever knew

I married into a family of Starrs, my name is Katy Starr. So… I thought, this, THIS is what I will name my blog, Keeper of the Starrs. Besides, it’s such a sweet song! I’m not quite sure what I will make of this blog. I’ve attempted others before and I currently have a photography blog, but I need something different.

Have you noticed the darkness in this world? Every where you turn, there is evil. Evil people, evil minds, evil behaviors and it can hurt others, a lot. My favorite quote is by Ghandi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Will this blog change the world? No, probably not, but I’m tired of the negativity and I feel the world; and the internet needs to have more positive attitudes and gratefulness! So, that’s where I’ll start this. Hopefully I can keep this up… I just want to share the beauty that is in this world, even though it’s often covered in a dark haze.

Feel inspired? Comment! I’d love to hear your thoughts and aspirations. Positive only, we have a tendency to hide behind our smart phones and computers sometimes and say the first thing that pops into our heads, even when it’s mean and degrading. Let’s not be “those” people. Let’s be a light in this dark world 🙂
